Enforcement Agent Qualifications
Job Class and Title: 60331--ABC Enforcement Agent
Type of Work: This is technical law enforcement field work involving inspection and investigative activities concerned with state alcoholic beverage laws, state narcotic laws, and ABC rules and regulations.
Qualifications: Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED, plus Two (2) years of law enforcement experience*
*NOTE: Applicants must be 21 years of age in order to perform the duties required in the handling of alcoholic beverages. Experience in security, safety, corrections or jail guard work is not acceptable. One year of college coursework from an accredited college or university, including at least three (3) courses in a social science such as Criminology, Criminal Justice, or Sociology, may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience (please include coursework on application). Military law enforcement experience at the rank of E-5 or above may substitute for the required experience. Employees in this classification may have 24 hour on-call responsibility and may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Special Requirements: Applicants must meet the requirements of the Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission for law enforcement officers during the probationary period. Applicants must possess or be able to obtain an Alabama driver’s license at the time of appointment. Applicants considered for hire will be required to pass a physical proficiency test, as well as a thorough background investigation including a drug screen.
Salary Range: (7274) Salary: $ 35,589.60 - $ 59,517.60
