ABC Enforcement Division
spec

The Enforcement Division is staffed by 110 sworn state law enforcement officers and is tasked with the enforcement of Alabama law, particularly those related to alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, and illegal drugs. The state is divided into 11 districts with the majority of Enforcement Agents and Supervisors working in the districts. The Enforcement Division also maintains a Statewide Drug Task Force, specializing in undercover investigations, which is funded by a federal grant through the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). As a part of their daily work, Enforcement personnel concentrate on minor access to alcoholic beverages and tobacco products using innovative techniques and proven programs which deter the sale of these products to minors and the potential possession of these products by minors.

During FY 2006/2007, there were 652 plea bargains, 23 acquittals, 191 dismissals, and 424 convictions.
Fines and costs assessed by the courts totaled $295,725.
Sentences assessed by the courts totaled 146 years, 5 months, and 22 days.
